Accepted!

Today our acceptance letter came from the Agency!  What an excitement!  We are overjoyed to begin this process....

Which started with an email and attachment of our 107 page adoption manual.  :)  It's like the first time we were pregnant and the nurse handed me the 3 inch 3-ring binder.  My sister asked if I was a cover to cover kind of reader.  HAHAHA!  It's kind of like a What to Expect when you're expecting book.  I basically read everything in it tonight.  However, I saved a few pages for when I read it again next time.  :)

We have to find a social worker in our state to do our home study.  So, I'll be calling tomorrow to do that.  We have it narrowed down to two agencies and we're hoping for one over the other, but we need more details before we decide.

Right now, it's hard to know how to talk about our child or children.  He? She? One? Two?  Phoebe and I call the child Panda.  Lily tries to make up a Chinese name every time she talks about the "girl" we are getting.  Lily's convinced we are getting a girl and a boy.  Phoebe and Daddy are convinced we're getting a boy.  And I'm convinced we're getting somebody or somebodies.  HAHA!  I have no feeling one way or the other that is consistent.

The other thing is we don't know the age.  That is also a bit strange - not to be able to say "baby" but to say "child".

At some point, I will put the estimated timeline on here.  And we'll have to start raising money to fund the adoption.  But tonight, we're trying to let things soak in - sooo much information today and we're anxious to get started on it all.  There is A LOT of paperwork.  There is about 25 hours worth of education/training we are required to do.  And there are 5 or 6 visits I think for the home study.

But first!!!  We get to tell people!!!  Both sets of grandparents are coming this Saturday - Groundhog's Day.  Little one or ones - you'll be just like the rest - we're telling Grammy and Gramps via the Mole.  Hee hee!  And I think we're going to tell Nana and PopPop with a little ultrasound picture that has china on it instead of a baby.  They're going on a trip soon to Florida so we're going to give them a little gift to take with them and when they open it, it'll be the u/s picture.

Also, we took a quick snapshot of us tonight - on the day we found out!
