WELCOME!

Clearly you are here because you got our "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT" and followed the link!  Yup - we are expecting to adopt sometime within the next year and a half.  We've begun the process to adopt in China.  We've picked an agency to work with who shares our beliefs in Jesus.  We have a home study social worker who also shares our faith.  Here are some other answers to questions you might have:

1.  We don't know the age or gender but are open to "younger than our oldest" and either gender.  Because of the 1-child per family rule in China, many many girls are abandoned at birth.  But what people don't realize is that many boys are also abandoned if they are "imperfect".  We can see ourselves with a boy or a girl or both...

2. We don't know if we will have one or two children.  Our social worker will talk with us about this and help determine what may work for our family.  And we don't know what God has in store.  But we trust that He will lead.

3. Timing - we are just starting our home study.  That will take a couple of months, then the US government will take a couple of months to review the paperwork to determine that we are able to become adoptive parents.  Our dossier will be put together and then sent to China where it will be translated.  (Dossier is the fancy word for our unique file and legal paperwork.)  Once that happens, China will put us into their big computer system - that is called the Log-in date - LID - and that is a big milestone.  At any point in the process, we can be matched with a child and we look forward to seeing how God will work that out.  After we get the LID, China will finish processing our dossier and send us travel approval and a date with the US Consulate in China.  After we get that, we book our tickets and go get our little one(s).  The trip is about 2 weeks give or take a couple days.  I am hoping we can have this entire process done and be home before the end of the year - but again, God's timing is perfect and we trust Him.

4.  What do the kids think?  THEY ARE SOOOOO EXCITED!!!  Lily said, "I've always wanted to adopt."  And Phoebe comes every morning to wake me up and ask if today we are getting a baby.  :)  Titus asks to watch "beebies" on the computer before naps every day.  We've shown the kids the pictures and videos online of the children waiting to be adopted.

Anyway, thank you for going on this journey with us.  We certainly cannot do this alone!  We praise God for all He's done so far and all He is doing!
