Ian's adoption: Week 21

How Far Along: 21 weeks (wait, what?!)
How I'm feeling: hmmmm - perplexed?  I haven't been able to blog with this adoption which is giving me an odd feeling.  I've either been without words or so busy that blogging has just not been possible.  But I've decided to start scheduling these weekly posts again with the prompts so I can blog SOMETHING!  Sheesh!
I'm also feeling perplexed at all the thoughts and... bigness of all of this.  It is very very difficult to find time to really think about it all and journal, but it's also difficult to really get my head around the enormity of bringing Ian home.  Soon.
Gender: Boy
Total bills so far: I'd have to take time (that I don't have) to add this up so maybe I can post next week.
Bills this week: no bills this week... I think... but we are filling out the Supp 3 and the I800 so there might be fees associated with those, but I'll figure that out the moment we're filling those forms out (are you catching a theme here?)
Ways God is working
God has provided $10,000 of the $15,000 needed for our family to go to China!  I'm so thrilled!!!
I have enjoyed being a mom, homeschooling, and doing "normal" this week with the realization that our "normal" is going to go through a major adjustment period soon.  I'm savoring the "simplicity" for right now.  Although I'm finding life is anything but simple at the moment.
We've been able to send two different packages to Ian.  The first one was when he learned he was being adopted and saw our family pictures and got his Big brother shirt.  The second one was for his birthday and Christmas and we sent legos, a sketch book, markers, and cards.
Stuff we've done for the adoption this week: We've been working on getting Ian's bedroom ready.  I've also started working on his travel journal.  Because BEING adopted is not a traditional travel experience, he really needs a custom journal and not one that I can buy somewhere.  My hope is to get it to him before we get there so he can start filling some of it out.
What I am looking forward to: seeing progress with our dossier; getting the kids' rooms finished; putting the closet organizer in the girls' closet and putting everyone's clean laundry away (it is all on the floor in our bedroom right now).

Pictures from this week:
We celebrated Christmas with Grammy and Gramps - by playing the traditional Christmas tree game: China Edition

Instead of a bin of little presents to pick from, if you drew a smiley face card, we got to choose an envelope that had money in it for our China Trip!!!

After I packed up the Christmas decorations I had some silly time with this goofy baby and it always amazes me when she's laughing that she can still see out of her eyes - they are just so teeny tiny when she laughs!

I started working on Ian's travel journal.  It's a work in progress with many different elements and pieces.
