Our Adoption: Week 4

How Far Along: 4 weeks
How I'm feeling: motivated, stressed, anxious, excited, curious
Gender: haven't found out yet... some time this summer???  I wonder when we'll find out if we're getting two!

Total money raised: $189.30
Favorite moments: Getting a surprise visit and a bamboo plant from a friend - they have one too to remind them to pray for us!  SUCH AN ENCOURAGEMENT!!
Things learned: The main thing we learned about this week that sticks out in my mind is the  issues that come along with institutionalizing children.  Not only are there cognitive and emotional delays, but because of a lack of stimulation, children can feel very upset by even touch or sounds.  We are learning ways to correct these things - de-institutionalizing if you will.  
What I am looking forward to: Our home visit is this Saturday.  Plus we're doing a China unit study while Phil's out of the country so I'm looking forward to getting that all planned out.  Oh and Lily wants to do an "adoption car" for the AWANA Grand Prix, so that will be interesting to see how that turns out!
