Our Adoption: Week 37

How Far Along: 37 weeks
How I'm feeling: Like a HUGE weight has been lifted!  In so many ways!!!
Gendermy second son
Total of bills so far: $14,318.96
(You can see what bills we've paid in the sidebar.)
Total money raised: $19,333.66
Favorite Moments: TRAVEL APPROVAL!!!  The CCCWA turned our travel approval around (normally a 3-4 week process) in 2 days!  What a miracle!
Things learned:  Sammy's doctors are going to be wonderful I think.  I got to talk to a few different people this week at Children's Hospital who were wonderful and have helped me get everything lined up and organized for Sammy's medical needs when we get home.  Such a blessing!
We also continue to learn more and more about my mom's situation.  The doctor is saying that the medication she's going to be on should knock the cancer back quite a bit and potentially could allow her to live for many years.  We will know more in 6 months about how the medication is working.  But for now, there is a new status quo, although she continues to recover slowly from the surgery she had to put in the rod in her leg.  It sounds like they will be doing radiation on both hips to try and knock back the cancer faster to prevent bones from breaking.
What we're waiting for:  Consulate Appointment confirmation.  First available was the week of Oct 21st.  But the Consulate has been on vacation this week, so we won't know until Monday most likely if we get our first choice of appointments.  So, we are waiting for that and then we are waiting on the edge of our seats to get our tickets booked!!!
What I am looking forward to:  Going to the airport and giving our kids their big sisters and big brother gifts before we leave.  Sitting down on the plane and buckling my seatbelt and having a good cry.  The anticipation the moments before we meet Sammy.  Holding him.  Wearing him in the wrap.  Going to China with my loving husband of 10 years.  Today, we celebrate 16 years together as a couple.  Oh I love him!
