8. We received a video of Ian introducing himself to us… as IAN! :D
7. Found out just after we posted our video announcement that precious friends of ours through the adoption world (and many we don't know, too) were storming the gates of Heaven praying for Ian and his family (US!!!) as we were in that week of decision making!
6. The day after Ian was told he's being adopted and has a family paper chasing for him, we got these pictures and a note from him:
5. On a day when I'm feeling particularly deep sorrow regarding my mom's health, my son sends a message to us saying not to worry about him. He already cares for our hearts and God sent us a little hug through him. And appropriately Ian was told, "good moms and dads always worry about their kids because they love them. I'll tell them but I think your mom and dad will still worry because they already love you."
4. God already started connecting us to families who have adopted Older Children way back when we did our Hot Air Balloon stuff during Jemma's adoption. A support team was already put together before we had ever seen Ian's picture and so when we needed to call people for wisdom in the decision making, God had them all lined up ready to talk - TOTALLY miraculous!
3. The advocate who posted about "Big Brother" had a return trip already planned for October and was able to take gifts to Ian from us with her. We sent one of Phil's Marquette sweatshirts so when he misses us or wants to feel our love, he can put it on and get a big hug. We sent the Team Blechacz shirt to him that says Big Brother (and received a picture of him in it the day he received it so we could put it in our announcement video). We also sent him pictures of all of us in our Team Blechacz shirts as well as a photo book of our family, his house, pictures the kids colored for him, and us at the pumpkin patch.
2. Ian started TUTORING IN ENGLISH today (10/15) by a member of the LOCAL BODY! How awesome is our GOD!?!?! He will do tutoring 2 hours 2 times a week until we come for him this Spring.
1. We went on vacation after starting the process for Ian's adoption and look what kept happening...
Did you count how many place settings we put at the table? This happened a handful of times. And even one time, Phil bought 6 lemonades for the kids at a restaurant... uh... our sixth child isn't home yet. This was just a really special way of God preparing our hearts. (The only one who knows in this picture who that place setting is for is Lily, and Mom and Dad, of course. So, it was special for her, too.)
