How Far Along: 5 weeks
How I'm feeling: tired, emotional, cautiously optimistic that we are nearing the end of the mountain of paperwork
Gender: we haven't found out yet, but we did find out today that our social worker will "whole-heartedly recommend us to be eligible for two" - WOWSA!
Total of bills so far: $5274.21
Total money raised: $190.55
Favorite moments: Lily gave us $1.25 of her savings towards the adoption - SOOOO sweet! Also, the home visit was fun. The kids loved meeting our social worker and even Titus hammed it up like usual. All three kids gave the house tour. :)
Things learned: That this process is is making it so Phil and I can tear up at just about anything! HA! Also, medical condition overviews and country specific adoption practices. We also learned about the referral processes.
What I am looking forward to: Saying that the home study is complete. We have last minute ends to finish up (paperwork, one more doctor's appt, some questionnaires, and notarizing things), and we have a handful of hours left for our education/training. But the bulk of the home study is finished!
