Our adoption: Week 13

How Far Along: 13 weeks

How I'm feeling: Confused... I feel disconnected from Samuel - like I know him but I don't - like I want to go get him - but feel like I am not prepared.......  Also, I feel like we are just hanging in limbo - it is hard to carry on with life as usual, when it doesn't feel like life should just carry on without Samuel.  It's weird.
Gender: a boy!

Favorite moments: Our APPROVED home study and immigration application are officially at the office of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.  Getting Sammy's medical letter from the doctor and then racing to the post office (which was closed) and then another post office at the strike of 5 o'clock to get our documents sent off to our agency.

Things learned: Starting to learn more about adoption parenting and why it will look different than how we've parented so far... although I'm happy to say that my beliefs about babies crying (and not just letting them cry it out) carry over to adoption, which is very validating. 
What I am looking forward to: Getting our "receipt" in the mail from USCIS saying they have received our paperwork.  Getting our fingerprint appointment in the mail from USCIS.  Finding out who our assigned officer is for our adoption case.
