What you can expect life to be like with Mommy
Jemma,
Every day I'm learning to be a better mom. Some days are awful and I stink at it. Our house is usually messy. I usually am behind on laundry. I like vacuuming, but as far as loving any other type of cleaning... eh. I'm REALLY trying to get the house clean before you come home, although I'm not sure why. I just want to minimize the stuff and maximize the quality of life.
So, here is life might look like with your Mommy.
I don't eat breakfast with anyone because I wait an hour for my thyroid medication to kick in and then by that time just want coffee. I love it if I walk downstairs in the morning and the table is washed from the night before and the sink is clean. This rarely happens but is happening more and more frequently as everyone pitches in to help more.
I usually make choices during the day based on motivation and inspiration. No two days are alike. So today, I decided to paint the baseball threads that were on Phoebe's wall from when it was your brother's. After it dried, Phoebe and I took permanent markers and colored - on the wall.
We don't color on any other walls or furniture. We DO NOT color on the family room furniture (ask your brothers - we do not ever do that again!). We do a lot of chalk outside. We do a lot of paint with water. We do not paint on each other (at least for 6 days, no one has painted on another person).
I got your crib lace in the mail today so I whipped up your crib skirt today. :)
I put some seeds in dirt for the second time - my first set I killed. I'm also trying to keep our new fish alive. I spend time with all the kids on school.
I work on HAB fundraiser stuff and help a friend. I kiss Sammy's chin when it gets pinched in his helmet strap by the neighbor girl. I tell Titus not to answer the door in his underwear when the fed-ex guy drops off the HAB necklace shipping boxes.
I think about laundry and make dinner.
We listen to a lot of music, do a lot of dancing, and I say "don't jump on the furniture" at least 3 times a day.
I'm underlining every time the book of John in the Bible uses the word "believe" in purple gel pen in my Bible and need to constantly give control over this and that (right now the HAB fundraisers) back to God and ask for the Holy Spirit to guide me and give me wisdom.
I put in a load of laundry, sometimes bathe a child before bed and then always spend time with Daddy. He's my favorite. :)
Jemma, life is messy and you're joining a crazy crew with a crazy mommy. But one thing I know for sure is that God chose YOU for my daughter meaning He chose ME for your mommy. You look like you might be a little like me (which makes me nervous).
Each night I go to bed, I think about how I could have done more with the kids, done more cleaning, and I go to bed dreaming about how I'm going to organize the house the next day. And then at the crack-o-dawn, Sammy comes whining into my room saying Mom Mom Mom Mom Mom can you make me beff-iss? I soooo hung-gee. And all dreams of organizing end. But I'm really learning that what I want from my days with each of you kids isn't organization…...
